Computer Games Are a Form of Entertainment or a Real Life Skill to Master

When people talk about computer games, what comes to mind is typically the type that is played on a personal computer, a game console, or an online service. A game is, essentially, a structured kind of interactive play, often undertaken for fun or entertainment, and at times used as an educational resource. Games are so much different from work, which isn’t usually done F95ZONE for monetary compensation, and from fine art, that they have been broadly identified as a separate term from the term art. But games can be educational, and they often are, especially if the game includes some kind of element of problem-solving. Even when the purpose isn’t to learn anything about anything, a game can be a great way to exercise the mind.
The first computer game, Mental Age, comes to mind. It was developed in 1976 by Richard Sandler and was one of the first commercially successful computer games. In this game, a player had to “think” in order to solve puzzles or avoid obstacles on the screen. This type of game was popular with programmers at the time who were trying to create entertainment that was both simple and entertaining. The challenge that the player found in Mental Age wasn’t unlike that which we find in many of the classic cognitive-rich books of our time – it was to “think” while avoiding doing things that aren’t necessary. For example, instead of hitting the bottom of the screen and being stuck, the player needed to think strategically in order to “stay” on the screen.
Another early game piece that was similar to Mental Age was a game called Abalone, or, as it was more commonly known, Coloring and Drawing. Abalone had the main game pieces (the brightly colored round discs) and the ability to color in the five different faces on each disc by using a pencil that had special properties. It was an early precursor to the game pieces that we know today; the coloring and drawing tools have come a long way since Abalone, however. The game pieces of today include cubes, birds, elephants, sheep, turtles, and more.
Chess is another classic chess game and one of the most popular chess games in the world. Many of the games that use chess as the main ingredient have a very complicated set of rules, so much so that some people find the need to hire an expert to teach them how to play. But many people play just one player games using an easily learned set of rules. The one player version of chess is one of the simplest to learn and play.
A relatively simple game that has been around for many years is Mahjong, or Chinese Checkers. This game piece utilizes the same properties that the cubes and birds do to make the squares in which they are played on. This is one of the most popular types of video games using game pieces in the world today. Mahjong is easy to learn and requires no advanced knowledge of the board and game pieces. Many beginners can master this game in a few short hours.
Video games can range from the incredibly simple to the amazingly complicated. When deciding whether or not a computer game is a form of entertainment or a real life skill to master, you should consider how easy it is for most players to learn. Most computer games have tutorials that allow players to get a feel for how the various pieces work together. And most computer games require no real skill to play with or master.
